As a bride, you have a million things on your to do list before walking down the aisle. One of the things that should be fun is creating gift bags for your bridesmaids. Obviously you couldn’t imagine your wedding day without them, so you’ll want to find perfect items to show your appreciation.
Well there’s always booze (champagne, yay!), jewelry, and gift cards. However, we’re here to help you create the Ultimate Bridesmaid Gift Bag, and it takes some really special gifts to make our list.
The most important part of creating the perfect gift bag is to make sure it’s something your bridesmaids will want to use again and again. Gifts that will remind them of the joy of your wedding, long after the day is gone.
To help inspire you, we have teamed up with some amazing companies to create our own Ultimate Bridesmaid Gift Bag. Even more exciting is we’ve giving you a chance to win one of your own! (Giveaway ended May 17, 2017 but read on for discount codes.)
My sister’s bridal shower was this past Saturday May 28, 2016. Myself and the other bridesmaids have been planning for months. We’re so excited to share the details of this English garden party theme with you!
The events of the shower will be divided up into two parts. (You can find part 2 here.) This first part will focus on the planning of the shower and give you some tips along the way.
We chose Braddock’s Tavern as the venue which was established in 1898. The chandeliers, mirrors, and even the picture frames are ornate with gold coloring making us confident an English Garden Party theme was the way to go. Once the venue was booked we officially moved into the planning stages!
I threw my best friend Tiffany a bridal shower a few years ago with a Breakfast at Tiffany’s Theme. I went nuts at the party store, buying anything and everything with sparkles and pearls. It was a relatively simple decorating job with Tiffany blue, white, and some glitter or silver pieces here and there.
Invitations: Vistaprint is one of my favorites when it comes to having things printed. I bought these invitations and some plain white envelopes.
Attire: I asked that everyone wear their favorite little black dress in honor of the movie and although I was worried people would think it was bold to ask them to wear something particular, everyone showed up in a black dress and thought the idea was fun!
If you’re anything like us you’re a thrifty shopper and can’t pass up a good sale. Over the years I’ve planned my fair share of themed parties so I’m always looking for cheap finds, especially when buying in bulk.
Below are my current favorite finds from some of the stores and websites I shop the most.
Our Current Favorite Find: ArtMinds Wooden Laser Cut Frames that you can paint any color you please. They range in price from $3.99 to $7.99 depending on the size you choose. In the example below from PinTheMall.net the smaller frames were used to create wedding dress shopping signs. How adorable is that!!
Another fun idea is to buy the larger sizes and paint them to use as a photo prop at the bridal shower or bachelorette party. Even if you don’t plan on having a full photobooth set up it would still be a fun prop for guests to use when taking a picture with the bride.
