Stunning Catholic Ceremony at this Unique Pasadena Wedding
When you unite a couple in love at their wedding, it is a joining of their families. For Richard and Bella, this was no exception. Their Catholic ceremony pairs nicely with the traditional Chinese tea ceremony honoring their heritage. Following these traditions, the couple is all about fun and lightheartedness. A surprise of a day, including the couple performing songs and the bridal party going Gangdam Style!
Traditional Tea Ceremony
Starting off the day, Richard and Bella had a traditional tea ceremony at their home in Pomona. Bella is originally from Indonesia, where her family still resides. Many made a 20 plus hour flight from Jakarta to celebrate the special day.
You are able to feel the culture and energy throughout the day. Indonesian food is one of the most vibrant and colorful cuisines in the world. It’s full of intense flavor featuring spicy curried meat and vegetables, like gulai along with a plate full of rice. Before the wedding activities start, the family is able to share a meal and talk about their origins.
Next, the couple and their guests head to Holy Family Church in Pasadena. They will say their I do’s in front of family and friends at their local parish. After the ceremony, pictures are taken inside and outside of the church. Cars honk and random strangers shout their congratulations at the newlyweds.
Anaheim Packing House
From Pasadena, Bella and Richard’s family fill a caravan of cars to make their way to the Anaheim Packing District. The renovated historic citrus-packing house is now one of the most vibrant event venues for the city of Anaheim. It’s perfect for intimate weddings in the heart of Anaheim.
The room is filled with hanging bistro lights, urban light wood tables, and stunning flowers from table to table. The food hall encompasses a variety of food vendors. The couple chose Kettlebar for catering and Carmela Ice Cream Cart for dessert. The bride takes on an adventure of her own and makes the wedding cake guest enjoy!
After a few toasts and a meal, Bella and Richard chose to sing and play keyboard in front of their guests. A combination of 5 songs tying into one another with perfect pitch harmony.
Shortly after surprising their guests, the bridal party had a surprise of their own. They sat the newlyweds down and danced for them to Psy – Gangdam Style.
It’s a day to remember with multiple fun locations. From the tea ceremony to the stunning Catholic ceremony, the modern venue and the bar cart food it was lovely. Certainly, a wedding that was highly personalized to the lovely couple it united.
