No Bachelorette Party Says the Bride! What should I do?

 In Advice, Bachelorette Party

Picture this: you’ve been asked to be a bridesmaid and you’re super excited! All you can think about is planning your favorite part of any wedding, the bachelorette party, and how fun it will be. The options are endless. You can get matching t-shirts and have a girls night out on the town. Or hire a sexy stripper and take crazy pictures of how wildly drunk everyone got! (Only to delete 50% or more of said pictures the next day. Turns out you and your crew drunk at 2am isn’t really as cute as you thought!)

So then you talk with the bride and she says……. absolutely no strippers! In fact, she might not even want to “party” at all. She says let’s just keep it low key. No bachelorette party craziness. And you know what? That’s okay! It’s a night, or weekend, where the bride gets to hang with her favorite women. Something that has become so rare in her adult life. You don’t want to risk making her feel uncomfortable by ignoring her wishes. Instead you should get creative!

To help you with that we’ve thought of a few fun alternative options.

Camping / Glamping

If your bride is outdoorsy then get out there in nature! Just don’t be surprised if a lot of the bridesmaids aren’t into the whole tent in the middle of the woods idea. In that case rent a luxury cabin and go glamping! If you split the cost amongst all the bridesmaids a cabin that is normally out of your price range on your own could be totally affordable.

Besides getting to spend time in nature it’s a great way to get away from it all and have a relaxing girls weekend. Just think, you can sip wine out of your coffee mug while taking in the lake area, the mountains, or beautiful foliage. Depending on the area you choose there could be a variety of activities to do including canoeing/kayaking, horseback riding, swimming, hiking, and maybe even skiing in colder months.

The Beach!

Another fun idea for brides that loves her toes in the sand, is to have a girls weekend at the beach. If it’s warmer weather there will be plenty for you to do. Besides the normal sunbathing, you can go swimming, biking, surfing, and drinking lots of cocktails by the water.

Just imagine the beautiful sunsets you will take in. Plus the amount of time you’ll have to unwind and catch up talking about the good ol’ days. If for one weekend only, you’ll get to enjoy time with the bride, and most likely some of your closest girlfriends, like it used to be. And if you’re feeling up for reliving some of those crazy college nights find a dive bar and try to blend in with the locals, cause a scene, or just let the night take you where it will.

Wine Country

If your bride loves wine then get that girl to a winery! While you’re at it check out bedandbreakfast.com to find a nice B&B to hang out overnight with the girls while in wine country. Not sure where to go? Check out this chart below:

Even if you can’t get to a wine region, with a little bit of research you can most likely find a winery within 2 hours of where you live. Rent a limo and once inside turn on some tunes. Now it’s time to pop champagne as you cruise in style to the winery.

No matter where you head on your bachelorette party adventure remember to respect the brides wishes! Bottom line it’s about having fun with the bride and her friends one last time before she’s a married women. Just remember to relax and make the most of it.

These are such fun ideas! I would have loved a nice night at a bed and breakfast with my girls to celebrate my upcoming wedding but that was YEARS ago now! And I haven’t had a glass of wine in almost a year. Time to change that soon 🙂

I love b&b’s! Unfortunately my husband is a modern amenity kind of guy, so I’m ready to do a girls weekend just because! LOL …. no wine in a year?? That my friend would be torture to me. Hope you have a glass real soon 🙂

Me too! I had a more traditional bachelorette party but a lot of my friends are opting for these mini-weekends away and I’m loving it!! My friend’s cabin weekend bachelorette inspired me to write this 🙂

I love these suggestions! So many Brides are over the party scene, each of these ideas sound like a much more fun and relaxing Girls trip.

Especially since brides are getting married more past the 25 mark now.
